Two-tiered Weissco leaf in blue
Yes, the mark reads the rarely encountered "Weissco," not Weiss. Much controversy has raged about whether or not this is a variant signature of Weiss. This is one of the pieces that leads me to think it might be, as it certainly equals Weiss's usual top-notch quality. This 2 1/2" silvertone brooch is in excellent condition and the stones are wonderful. N9-We004 $62

(1" clipbacks) are in changing hues of greens and blues. All
pieces marked "Weiss." There is a small professional
solder repair on the brooch clasp (see pic); it is quite strong and
completely unnoticeable when worn but because of it, here's the sweet

NEW! Outstanding Art Modern earrings
I put these in the designer section not only because they're signed but because they deserve it. Unfortunately, I can't make out the signature! Looks like "LH / gzs," but I'm completely unsure. These are terrific studio art clipback earrings measuring 1 3/4" high with rising flames of silver and goldwash. Test as sterling but no mark. Excellent condition. JO-Unk001 $33

This fella is delightful ~ openback purple pears-shapes and frosted pale purple navettes form the upper wings of this jappaned-setting flutterby. Marked Weiss on plaque on reverse, 1 1/4" high. Appears to be an old and professional repair at very tip of right bottom wing, but not visible from face and does not alter its visual appeal (see pic of back ~ repair was even done in jappened finish). These wonderful 1" Whiting & Davis-marked earrings have stones that radiate every shade from peach to emerald green. (There are two shots to give you an idea of variance!)
